The proofing process varies depending upon your needs, and especially on whether you simply want a print that looks good, or if you want your print to exactly match the original artwork. Usually, one proof and a subsequent color correction are sufficient, but the process ultimately depends on many factors; how exacting you wish to be, the nature of the artwork, and the quality of the photo or digital scan if you are providing this yourself Allowing Swanson Images to work your original artwork, beginning by making the scan or photograph, allows us the highest level of control. If the original artwork is unavailable and if exact color is critical to you, we urge you to send artist proof or guide prints. Surface Choice: You have a choice of surfaces upon which to create your giclée prints. We will guide you to the ideal paper or media. We are happy to provide proof prints on a variety of surfaces if you wish. Additional fees apply if multiple surfaces are requested in the proof process. See the next page for more information on your paper options. In house or Remote Proof Process: When we are creating prints from original works of art scanned or photographed by Swanson Images, we make the initial color corrections and print a preliminary proof or series of proofs on various papers. You then review these proofs, either at our studios if you are able to visit in person, or via delivery to you. If color adjustments are needed, we will print additional proofs for your inspection. You must approve the final proof before your edition is run. Additional fees apply for shipping proofs to you, with options of Priority Mail or FedEx delivery. |
